35 Members of the Southwest Papua Regional House of Representatives for the 2024-2029 Period Officially Inaugurated in Sorong Regency

Sorong, October 11, 2024 – A total of 35 members of the Southwest Papua Regional House of Representatives (DPR) for the 2024-2029 period were officially inaugurated by the Chief Judge of the West Papua High Court, Dr. Budi Santoso, in a ceremony held at the Aimas Convention Center (ACC) Hotel, Sorong Regency, on Friday (11/10). This inauguration took place in a special plenary session with the agenda of oath-taking, witnessed by the Acting Governor of Southwest Papua, Muhammad Musa'ad, along with local government officials, and the Chief of West Papua Regional Police, Inspector General Jonny Isir.

In his speech, the interim Chairman of the DPR, Hendri Andrew George Wairara, stated that this inauguration marks an important and strategic moment for the Southwest Papua DPR members to begin their duties in advocating for the interests of the people in this newly established province.

"As elected DPR members, we bear the noble task of fighting for the people's interests in this province," said Hendri Wairara. He emphasized that the role and function of the DPR are very strategic, both in advocating for the rights and welfare of the people and in building synergy with the local government for the advancement of the Southwest Papua Province.

With genuine enthusiasm and dedication, the DPR members are committed to carrying out the people's mandate and supporting regional development programs to improve the welfare of the people in Southwest Papua.

"We will continue to strive to realize the aspirations of the people in Southwest Papua," he added.

The 35 DPR members for the 2024-2029 period inaugurated include Ortis Fernando Sagrim, Frengky Baru, David Sedik, Habel Howay, Willem Assem, Abdul Gafur, Muhamad Hanafi Muslim, Yanto Yatam, Denny Mamusung, Fredrik Frans Adolof Marlissa, Josafat Kambu, Erwin Ayal, Iim Abdul Hosim, La Ode Samsir, Jongky R. Fonataba, Pieters Kondjol, Petrus Nauw, Ehud Eduard Kondologit, Max A. Hehanussa, Ranley H.L. Mansawan, Yustus Kambu, Sukriyadi, Anneke Lieke Makatuuk, Surung Hamonangan Sibarani, Yusuf Marak, Esterlita Ethy Sagrim, Febry Jein Andjar, Nansy Prisillia Karundeng, Zeth Kadakolo, Arifin S, Marthinus Abraham Nasarany, Jamalia Tafalas, Henry Andrew George Wairara, Ahmad Fardhal Umlati, and Syahrullah Salate.

This inauguration marks the beginning of the members' five-year term in advancing the province of Southwest Papua.[Humas]
