The inauguration of the Board of the Southwest Papua Province Declaration Forum (FD PBD) for the 2024-2029 term took place with great enthusiasm at the Rilich Panorama Hotel in Kampung Baru, Sorong City, on Wednesday (August 7, 2024). The event was attended by various community leaders, youth, and declarators who offered their full support to the newly appointed FD PBD leadership.

Representing the Acting Governor of Southwest Papua Province, the Head of Kesbangpol PBD, Dr. Selvyiana Sangkek, SE., M.Si., officially inaugurated Johanis Naa as the Chairman of FD PBD for the 2024-2029 term and Agus J. Latumahina as the Secretary-General. In her speech, Dr. Sellvyiana Sangkek expressed her hopes that the new leadership could advance FD PBD and make a tangible contribution to the people of Southwest Papua. "This forum is here to support the current and future government to achieve the goals envisioned by the four Declaration Figures," she added.

Following the inauguration, Johanis Naa, as the newly appointed Chairman, delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of preserving the values of the struggle and upholding the legacy of the declarators who fought for the establishment of Southwest Papua Province. "The main goal of this forum is to honor and continue the struggle of the declarators who worked hard for the creation of this province," said Johanis Naa.

Johanis Naa also reaffirmed his commitment to promoting and safeguarding these values to ensure they are not forgotten by future generations. "We will ensure that the struggles and sacrifices of the declarators are respected and carried forward," he stated. He added that strategic programs would soon be developed and implemented to realize the vision and mission of FD PBD.

Agus J. Latumahina, as the Secretary-General, also expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him and promised to work closely with all FD PBD members to achieve their shared goals. "Solidarity and cooperation among members are crucial to ensuring the success of the planned programs," said Agus.

This inauguration marks an important moment to strengthen solidarity and cooperation among members and to prepare strategic programs to be implemented during the 2024-2029 term. Support from various parties is expected to help FD PBD in fulfilling its duties and functions effectively.

The inauguration also signifies the beginning of a new chapter for FD PBD under the leadership of Johanis Naa and Agus J. Latumahina.
